Project  Chemlog T&T

Association of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry of the Slovak Republic (ACFI SR) joined the project ChemLog T&T, which is part of the Operational Programme Central Europe. We began to work on the project on 01.07.2012 and are expected to finish on 31.12.2014.

The project follows on the good experience and results of project ChemLog, which was subsequently extended by 6 months.

The project will also address the search for a safer and more environmentally friendly mode of transport for the chemical industry. Priority will be given to transport in the direction east to west and back, using a special technology for monitoring dangerous goods according to the ADR (The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road). In addition to the original partners from Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Italy and Hungary, Slovenia and representatives of seaports in Italy also joined the project.

Thus the project covers all modes of transport and our aim is to contribute to the unification of systems for identification and monitoring of shipments - Tracking and Tracing. In the future the systems will use the navigation system Galileo, GSM data transmission networks and identify vehicles and shipments by RFID systems.

The project will involve not only member businesses of ACFI SR but also road, rail and river carriers as well as operators of combined transport. Together we will work to build lines of continental combined transport through Slovakia using our position in Central Europe.

Up to present time we have organized following activities in the frame of the Project:

• November 15, 2012: Conference devoted to the issues of the transportation of dangerous goods. The Conference was organized in cooperation with the Association of Logistics and Consignment of the Slovak Republic (ZLZ). Venue: Šamorín-Čilistov (south-west Slovakia)
• February 2013: Project team meeting devoted to the transportation in the corridor DE – CZ – SK – UA – RU. The representatives of the University in Žilina presented the results of the Study of the T&T Systems that had been worked out in the frame of the T&T technology of road, rail and river transportation in Slovakia. This way we fasten on to our successful cooperation in the Project ChemLog.
• September 30, October 1, 2013: We welcomed our partners at the Project working meeting in Bratislava. After the working meeting, the Project Political Group session followed. Top European experts in the implementation of the T&T technology of dangerous goods took part.
• November 19, 2013: Working Meeting of the Project team. Results of the pilot testing were presented. Venue: ZCHFP SR premises in Bratislava.
• March 19, 2014: the 3rd Conference of the Project. There was the presentation of achievements of the Project, mainly the results and experience with the tests of the range of 125 500 km. Venue: Halle.
• April 8, 20114: Regional meeting of the Project team. Presentation of the T&T technology pilot testing results in Europe. We dealt also with the next development of the combined transportation and the satellite terminals. Venue: ZCHFP SR premises in Bratislava.
• October 29 and 30, 2014: Project Team Meeting; topical themes of the agenda: shipments monitoring, combined transportation. Venue: Šoporňa (south-west Slovakia).
